Most commonly asked questions: Faq’s
What are the benefits of refinishing?
Refinishing is very cost effective, it is a portion of the cost of replacement, considering the costs of demolition of the old tub & surround, and the cost incurred in replacing these items. Sometimes the cost of drain replacement and any work in the floor below the tub is not considered. Also add in the “Green factor”, keeping additional building materials out of our landfills. The turnaround time is 24 hours compared to a week or more, which is detrimental for someone with only one bathroom, or a turnaround on a rental unit.
How long does it take to complete the job, and when can I use it again?
It typically takes 4 hours to do a tub, plus any tile work. The tub can be used 24 hours after time of application.
What if there are chips and scratches in the tub?
We will repair any chips and scratches before it is refinished.
The resurfacing Technician will tell you beforehand if repairs can not be made.
Does tile have to be regrouted after refinishing?
Not at all. In fact, our product will actually seals the old grout, making it mold and mildew free. Any loose or missing grout needs to be replaced before the refinishing process.
What do I do to get the project ready for the Technician?
A leaking tap will have to be repaired before refinishing. All loose items need to be removed from the tub and area (shampoo bottles, etc, towels shower curtain).
What if there are shower doors on the tub?
The doors would have to be removed in order to access the tub properly. If you are thinking that you would replace them at a later date, It would be best if they were removed completely, otherwise we would mask the frames off.
If I am doing other renovations to the bathroom, would I get the tub refinished first?
It would be preferable to do the tub last. This would prevent any damage to the tub during the remodel of the bathroom. A dust free area is required for a good finish.
What kind of warranty do you offer?
3 years on residential and 1 year on commercial units.
